I never believed photography was a time machine.   The language we use to describe photography has always possessed the most inspiring fallacies to me; that a picture is worth a thousand words, or that like a Proustian Madeleine it will transport you back to the moment it was taken.  I never believed photography was a time machine.

My pictures instead explore the ways in which the events of our lives become the stories we tell.  Photography’s subjectivism is it’s greatest strength.   With each project I seek to explore a new boundary of photography, exploring the medium’s relationships with literature, history, and phenomenology.

Lately I have been thinking about the weather.
